WHAT IS THE INTERDIMENSIONAL EXTRATERRESTRIAL TIME TRAVELERS SOCIETY?
The IETTS works hard to protect well-intentioned mythological beings (or the idea thereof) across several universes, a multitude of dimensions and throughout all divisions of time. WHO IS LUM? (OR, WHAT IS A "LUM"?)
The following is from the liner notes of Danz CM's "The Interdimensional Extraterrestrial Time Travelers Society ©2026 Channel 9 Records:
A collection of LUMs form one sector of The Interdimensional Extraterrestrial Time Travelers Society.
Standing (generally) nine feet tall and enveloped in a coat made of feathers, fur, and a cotton-like substance, they are benevolent creatures who spend their days roaming free, at random in either:
A. parallel universes
B. higher dimensions (within our own universe) or
C. other periods of “time” altogether.
Time is in quotations because what is time anyway? Because they spend their days wandering through planes of existence we’re unable to perceive, LUMs are invisible to the naked human eye (unless you have a SIGHTSEER of course, but I’ll get to that momentarily). A LUM chooses where and when to exist based on where and when they are most needed, and only the LUM itself can make that decision. The fact of the matter is, you might be surrounded by LUMS at this very moment and not know it.
Anyone can summon a LUM simply by calling out the word: “LUM”. Either one or two will appear right away if they believe your circumstances call for their presence. If you concentrate really hard whilst calling out “LUM”, you might beckon a whole family of LUMs, doubling, or even tripling their desired effects. The invisible presence of LUMs might cause a human being to experience the following:
1. Finding things you’ve previously been missing. LUMs have an uncanny (and quite useful) ability to bring attention to forgotten objects or thoughts. They have three eyes, one large and two small. The large eye is called a SIGHTSEER and is able to see across at least two higher dimensions (or universes/realities) simultaneously, as well as the present time. The latter pair of eyes beneath the SIGHTSEER (no one knows the name of these) are able to see across future and past. They see the beginning of everything and the end of it all (that is to say, if there even is a beginning and end to it all, who is to know besides the LUMs). If you summon a LUM and they find you interesting (and kind at heart), they will find whatever it is you’ve been missing and place it right in front of your nose. Their presence also prevents whatever you might have lost from being misplaced or forgotten.
2. Empathizing with very tiny creatures. A spider walking across a kitchen counter has an unbelievably low chance at survival if it catches the attention of a nearby human being. If a LUM is present, or within at least a two mile radius, human beings will choose to help arachnids by bringing them to comfortable ceiling corners or outside gardens. There have even been reports of human beings leading ants to nearby breadcrumbs and awarding mice leftover cheese. For reasons unbeknownst to us, mosquitos are excluded from this anomaly.
3. An aversion to confrontation and peaceful demeanor. LUMs are unable to fight or bicker, and they lack the ability to feel anxious or overwhelmed. It’s just not in their nature or DNA (although we only suspect this since we’ve never actually gotten hold of any LUM-DNA). We do know that their neural oscillations are able to project across every temporal and dimensional axis, which in turn overrides the LUM-caller’s bio-electrical impulses. Those fortunate enough to be in a LUM’s presence will experience a state of deep equilibrium. This is why LUMs are called for most before driving tests, job interviews, family get togethers and tax season.
4. Luck.
LUMs are one of many intelligent beings who are proud to call themselves members of The IETTS. I’ve had the privilege of seeing a LUM with my own mortal eyes only very briefly by concocting my very own SIGHTSEER, hence why I started painting them. You can see an example ABOVE and BELOW.

OUR LOGO: A DIMENSIONAL TREE OF SORTS
Above is the logo for The Interdimensional Extraterrestrial Time Travelers Society. It consists of a large Redwood tree (although it is also fair to interpret the tree as a Sequoia if that is your desired tree preference), encompassed by several "layers" which represent the four dimensions that we experience: three spatial dimensions of length, width, and height plus one dimension of time, which combine into a unified fabric known as spacetime.
To note: Of course the LUMs' version of this logo would look vastly different from our own (with many more layers to represent the dimensions that they experience) although we couldn't begin to fathom what theirs looks like so we won't try and describe it.
Suffice it to say, the DIMENSIONAL TREE logo appears on all official IETTS merchandise and related materials.
LILA AND NEXADREAM™
LILA (Long-Range Interstellar Link Assistant) is one of many inventions that the LUMs have concocted here at the IETTS. It is a physical vessel that mimics the LUMs' inherent ability of cross-dimensional travel. It maps ("links") point A to point B: anywhere, at any time, in any universe. LILA is able to step outside of linear time to make travel simultaneous. We don't know how they've done it, but by golly it's impressive.
There is one significant caveat for human beings, however. Not all species can be exposed to timeless space, a dimension the LUMs naturally inhabit. Our consciousness would surely collapse under the weight of eternity happening in a single millisecond.
This is why the LUMs invented NEXADREAM™ technology, which allows humans to transfer their consciousness to a "dreamscape" while LILA navigates to point B. The human mind is kept safely distracted in a comfortable reality, blissfully unaware, gathering up seashells and enveloped by the ocean breeze. You might be asking yourself, "What about my body, will it grow old and wrinkley by the time I wake up at my destination?" The answer is no. Because LILA's travel takes zero seconds in physical space, your human body requires no stasis and remains completely unaffected. You also might be asking yourself, "Couldn't I just go to sleep instead of transferring my consciousness to NEXADREAM™?" The answer is also a resounding, no. Normal sleep only shuts down the conscious mind, leaving your unprotected subconscious completely vulnerable. The next and last question you might be asking yourself is, "How long does it take?" Well, that's entirely up to you. Heck, some IETTS members travel on LILA with NEXADREAM™ just to go on a "vacation of consciousness". We are a society of time travelers, after all.
Time on LILA without NEXADREAM™ technology would not feel fast. Nor would it feel slow. To be quite frank, there would be no sense of time at all as you know it to be true; and your past, present, and future would compress entirely. For this reason all IETTS members are strictly prohibited to travel on LILA vessels that predate V4. Versions without NEXADREAM™ technology: v1.1, v1.2, v2.1, v2.2, v2.3, v3 and v3.1, have been rendered obsolete and decommissioned for the general safety of all IETTS members. They are buried deep within the Mariana Trench (35,876ft below sea level). Version 3.2 has also been rendered obsolete and decommissioned, however we've unfortunately lost track of it. This all goes without saying but do not, I repeat, DO NOT board LILA V3.2 under any circumstances.
